Last month, while I was in San Francisco, I went to Ghiradelli’s Square…. and ate everything I could.
It was SOOO good! My friends and I shared a few of the ice cream sundaes. We felt a little sick after… but it was worth it! 🙂
Our favorites were the Crissy Field Sundae (Chocolate chip cookies, vanilla ice cream, cookies n’ cream ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge, etc.) and the Treasure Island Sundae (warm brownie, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, etc.) We were randomly reminiscing about how good they were one night when we realized that my friend, Lucy, hadn’t eaten any! She was feeling sick that night and hadn’t even tried a spoonful. We immediately knew we’d need to change that.
To recreate the delicious sundaes from Ghiradelli’s Square you’ll need a few things.
- A decorative dish if you have one
- GOOD vanilla ice cream
- Ghiradelli’s fudge sauce
- Sea Salt Caramel (optional, but a delicious addition!)
- Whipped Cream
- Ghiradelli’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Ghiradelli’s Brownies
Now, I bought the Ghiradelli cookbook and recipes for their cookies and brownies are listed there. BUT…I was in a hurry the day we made these. So I bought the boxed mixes for Ghiradelli’s Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies and Caramel Turtle Brownies. They worked great!
My recommendation for forming the sundaes?
Pour a little hot fudge and caramel in the bottom, place a scoop of ice cream and some brownie or cookie chunks. Repeat. (The layering allows for more brownie and cookie throughout the ice cream… 🙂 ) Top with whipping cream and drizzle of hot fudge and caramel and top with a cherry. Place a cookie or brownie as a garnish. (This is the type of garnish that is meant to be eaten!)
Eat and enjoy!
